Christmas Tree Ideas

By: Ruthie Tanner

OH! Christmas Tree, how you make me smile with your twinkling lights, ribbon, and decor.

Let’s GO! Ribbon goes on first….

Do you use ribbon on your Christmas tree?

It’s an easy and fun addition!

I like to purchase ribbon from Sam’s. It’s hard to beat their price, wide range of designs, and best of all it’s also wired - yea! Wired ribbon allows the design to keep its form.

Select several ribbons that complement each other and are different widths for your tree.

Duck tail the ends and stack the ribbons with the widest on bottom.

Leaving a tail of ribbon of 5-6” inches, pinch ribbons together and push into tree close to top, then twist two tree tips around the ribbon to secure in place.

Repeat the process every 10-12” down the tree making a bubble effect sticking out from tree for dimension.

At the bottom, you can either let the ribbon hang loose or tuck into the tree.

Then, separate ribbons from each other. Two ribbons were used here but perhaps you would enjoy using 3 ribbon choices.

The size of your tree determines the number of times you would do this process.

On this pencil tree, I added three ribbon sections going from from top to bottom each time.

Larger ornaments were nestled in next, adding various shapes and texture for interest.

Finally, picks were inserted. These make great fill-ins for those empty spaces.

Let me throw this out- if you’ve never put a tree in your bedroom…. friend this is the year! You can’t have too many trees sprinkled around your home.

If not a tree, add Christmas decor, greenery and holiday throw pillows.

It just adds a special feel to the space you relax, fall asleep and wake up to start another blessed day.

There is just something magical and cozy from twinkling lights and a beautifully decorated Christmas tree!

Go ahead, turn on soft Christmas music and make time each day to “sit still” a few moments and enjoy the view and sounds.

Thanks for visiting Graceful Home.
