Fence Art

Let’s make memories with FENCE ART- oh what FUN!!!

While visiting an art museum in Austin several years ago, I viewed pieces with a price tag of $50,000 and a few even higher.

Some of the pieces honestly looked like spattered paint ….but because of who the artist was, that gave the value.

Well, I promise today’s art piece will be much more valuable!

You ask WHY??

Because the “artist” is YOUR family and the memories made will be PRICELESS!

I recently planned this activity in my back yard on the back fence. I can clearly see this area from my kitchen as well from upstairs bedroom windows.

What I thought would be a fun afternoon with my five GRANDS- turned out- as you will see-the whole family loved getting involved.

Supplies needed:

  1. Roll of painters tape

  2. Chunky chalk in several colors

  3. Old rags

***Michael’s Craft store or Amazon has chunky chalk

1. Using the tape, make a kaleidoscope pattern on the fence. No right or wrong way to do this part other than a straight top, bottom, and sides. Make sure to push tape into the fence for a clean line when it’s removed.

2. Everyone grab a different chalk color and let the art begin. Make sure the colors are mixed and spaced well on the fence.

3. After all spots are filled in with color, use the rag to gently rub the chalk into the fence which gives it a smooth, finished look.

4. Remove all of the tape. Instantly the beautiful ART piece comes alive!

PRICELESS!

I love looking out my windows and reliving the wonderful time we had creating this! It brings a smile every time.

Depending on the location of “art” and the weather, it can last awhile.

My GRANDS had so much fun and their “oohs and ahhs” were so precious - they were so proud!

The highlight was when our 9 year old GRAND (on his own) filled in one of his spots with the American flag! I love the flag so this was a treasure to me.

This is a wonderful rainy day project (wait- what’s THAT??) with piece of Kraft paper or cardboard then… enjoy the memories hanging inside your home, or it can even be done on canvas with paint. Perfect for basically any age.

Same instructions.

Life is short - long days but short years. Don’t miss opportunities to make special memories. My GRANDS live in other states plus hours away so when we are together we make every minute count!

I hope you try this PRICELESS art.

You wont regret it!

It doesn’t cost but a few dollars for chalk and tape but ohhh the FUN!

Thanks for visiting

Graceful Home today-
