Decorated WATERMELON…SURPRISE

June 26, 2023

Have you seen a “decorated watermelon” lately?

Welllllllll now you have!

Nothing says summer quite like COLD, juicy SWEET watermelon.

Here’s a fun twist to bless someone and share all that delicious goodness with the special people around you.

Porch drops became very popular and a way of life during the awful season of, do I dare even say that word….Covid.

Here’s a FUN porch drop to do. It’s a quick inexpensive way to gift a wonderful surprise to a neighbor, co-worker or friend, because again …

WHO doesn’t like watermelon??

If they don’t like watermelon, are they REALLY your friend…??

I’ve left these decorated treasures on neighbors porches, beside car doors at church parking lots and on a co-workers desk to name a few… but oh, the “surprise” places are endless.

All you need is a beautiful watermelon, several choices of ribbon and a note card with wishes for enjoyment-or letting them know who gifted them such delicious goodness.

Super Easy Instructions:

*Wipe watermelon clean

*Wrap ribbons around the watermelon like a gift box.

*Secure at top and bottom by pushing a toothpick through ribbons into watermelon.

*Make a simple bow with different color and sizes of ribbons.

I added in several sparkly pipe cleaners, twisted each one around a pencil to make curly and

glued a “firecracker” in center of bow.

*Write a note card, punch a hole in one corner and tie on with the tail of a ribbon.

*Place on neighbors porch or wherever for a wonderful surprise.

This decor is for 4th of July but different ribbons would give any decor you desired or wanted.

SO simple but so much fun!

One of my most favorite things to do is surprise someone with a “little happy gift” for no reason and of course-nothing is expected in return!

The feeling you get from this kind act IS your reward plus the excitement they feel from the expression of friendship is so sweet to the soul!

Happy Summer!

Thanks for visiting Graceful Home
