How Was That Created?

How was that created?

Have you ever looked at something and wondered “how” it was created?

Here’s a little “behind the scenes” creating decor centerpieces for our 1st responders meal after service.

Since it involved police and firefighters, I chose a replica of their hats as a base. Both types of hats were purchased from Amazon.

I cut a hole in the center of each hat large enough to slide over a 4” square container.

Fill the container about one-third full of water.

One trick for holding florals in any container is to make a grid with tape across the top of the container. I used waterproof floral tape but regular tape will also work.

Three varieties of fresh greenery, beautiful fresh florals of white hydrangeas, red carnations and blue star sea holly was chosen to create the arrangements.

Begin by cutting the greenery into single pieces from main stem and insert into a square of the grid.

Using a variety of greenery provides interest and depth to the arrangement.

Once the grid is filled with enough greenery, cut the floral stems at an angle at the length needed and insert into grid. Continue with the remaining florals and cut them at varying lengths. Fill any holes with more greenery or florals.

Of course we sprinkled some decor in our green room as well ….

This was such a fun project!

I was especially proud to give honor and say thanks to the men and women who serve our community.

Thanks for visiting Graceful Home
