Isn’t She Lovely?

Isn’t She Lovely

Oh what fun “she” was to create!

There are many dress style trees available to purchase but there is something about creating it yourself.

Start with purchasing a dress form from craft store.

Next you need a roll chicken wire, clippers and GLOVES.

The wire is wonderful to create with but rough on hands.

Greenery of your choice.

I love to use mix greenery.

This was created a few years ago so unfortunately no pics of the process.

Attaching the wire at the waist area with a heavy duty staple gun.

Make the shape of the dress with the wire.

Attach greenery pieces by weaving the ends through the wire to secure in place.

Zip ties are another way to secure to wire form.

I love to repurpose -

Old Christmas trees that perhaps have had better years is a great place to get greenery from for skirt.

Don’t forget to check local thrift stores.

Cut the limbs off and attach to the chicken wire.

Continue until the skirt is complete with all wire covered with greenery.

To make the bodice- I hot glued a piece of fabric to look like a tank top.

Next, I simply laid the lace fabric over shoulder and hot glued over tank top- repeat on other side.

Using a Christmas plaid fabric, I wrapped it around the waist for a belt look. And….she was complete.

SOOOO much fun to create.

She looked beautiful in the corner of the formal dining room.

*This one is not my design*

The creator wanted a dress tree but her budget was limited.

She found a discarded tree and brought it home with her.

The shape was started by trimming back some of the limbs in the “bodice area” so jacket would “fit” the tree.

Wrapped the jacket around tree with some limbs sticking out top.

Finishing touch, the scarf.

Look at her…. Perfect addition to any porch or holiday corner.

May your week be full of holiday joy. Don’t forget to stop daily for a few minutes to enjoy the season with a cup of hot cocoa, holiday goodies and friends.

Thanks for stopping by Graceful Home today.
