Personalizing Wall Art

Recently I purchased this large wooden wall hanger. The colors are springy and pleasant and its message is a good rule to live by. However it felt “cold and incomplete”. So, I made it my own! Let’s personalize some wall art today!

Unfortunately I did not take a pic in its original state. Sorry!

Although I knew it needed “something”, I was a bit stumped as to what that was.

Finally I grabbed some paint, a brush along with blue painters tape and went to work.

Taping along the entire front edge, the sides were transformed with a simple coat of black paint and WOW - Instantly it looks like it now has a frame wrapping around the art.

That’s exactly what was needed.

Did I stop there- well, No!

Also added what’s called an “eyelash” affect around the edge.

This is accomplished by “dry brushing”.

Dip your brush into very little paint- then “off load” on a paper towel removing most paint. Test on paper to ensure not much paint is left on brush.

Then simply place your brush at the edge of the project and quickly and lightly pull in.

Again- You DO NOT want much paint on your brush.

The brush is really dry but yet enough to make the difference.

It adds SO much! Totally a different look from when it was purchased. Don’t be afraid to “customize” something.

It becomes “ONE OF A KIND”, just like when God created only ONE of YOU!

Remember …. BE ROOTED and STAND TALL!
