Spring Door Wreath

You know what I love about making a door wreath? It doesn’t have to be perfect! People driving or walking past aren’t scrutinizing its perfection. Isn’t that encouraging, and those who come to your door aren’t usually there long enough to analyze it intensely! SO… you can hardly go wrong!

Friend, this is my kind of project (lol). One that is imperfect and offers much mercy!

I’ve been on a “use what you have” kick, instead of buying new and I love the challenge!

While I was unpacking my spring decor I realized the beautiful wreath I made last year was broken. REALLY BROKEN. So I was up for the challenge. Here are the supplies I used.

  1. Grapevine wreath (new) $9.99

  2. Broken wreath w/ flowers & greenery

  3. Egg vine (you’ll notice I decided I didn’t need these)

  4. Spring ribbons (from Sams)

Tools needed: Scissors, cutter/pliers, wire cutters, & zip ties.

I positioned the broken pieces on the grapevine wreath in a way I thought I could work around. I envisioned a big bow on the left side in between the two broken pieces. Notice, I DID NOT take them off the broken foundation pieces.

Weave the zip tie in the grapevine wreath and around your flowers. Don’t tighten it too tightly until you’re sure that’s exactly where you want your flowers. Once they’re tight, there’s no moving mercy! Be sure to snip off your extra long zip tie tail. (Don’t miss the little details.) Speaking of little details, I didn’t want the broken part of my wreath to show, so I used the plier/cutters to snip off the broken edge. Later, the bow pieces covered it even more.

Adding The Bow & Loops

This is one of those things that would drive most people crazy and maybe even bring them to a screeching halt As I worked on the spring wording bow, the words were upside down on the left side. Now, you may know how to tie a bow so this isn’t an issue, but remember… I’m not Ruthie… (lol) and I don’t, so I kept moving forward and tried to remember it’s going on the door and won’t be scrutinized!

You will notice my zip ties came in handy for the bow and loops.

I decided to add some double loops at the top and bottom of the bow. Besides, you know the saying… “Everything’s Bigger In Texas”! (lol)

Step back and look at your creation. Look for any gaps, holes or needed adjustments.

I prefer to hang my door wreath on the exterior glass door so this suction cup does a great job! Here are a couple of pictures of the finished project.

Challenge: I’d love to see something Spring related that you reuse and spruce up!

Thanks for spending this time with me and I hope you have been inspired to create something springish for your home!
