THANKFUL Tree

November 1, 2022

We are entering the season that our mind turns to things we are most thankful for.

Here is a simple easy way to “grow a thankful tree”.

Gather a few long sticks from your yard or purchase some from the craft store.

Next a variety of paper- scrapbook paper, cardboard packing or burlap.  There is no right or wrong here. Different colors and texture catch the eye.

It’s easy to make leaves, fold paper and using fold side as center draw half of leave~  then when opened you have a perfect leaf.

Make a hole in top and using  raffia or ribbon thread through hole.

Find a container - I used a glass vase and pushed burlap, raffia and packing material to secure sticks in vase.

Have family members write what they are thankful for then tie it on your tree.

Make it a fun daily event at dinner for the  month of November and watch your tree grow.

It’s a great way to get your kids involved but also for all of us  to be reminded of the blessings we have.

Save the leaves from year to year to reflect back, and don’t forget to add the year on the leaves for those memories.

I love looking at the leaves from past years … some are no longer with us but their handwriting on those simple leaves are priceless.

❤️ Ruthie.
