We’ve got a handful of fun Christmas books to share with you today!
The book for the women that like Christmas Romantic Comedies.
Catching Christmas by Terri Blackstock
In Catching Christmas, you’ll meet Sydney, a busy young lawyer, Finn, a grumpy cab driver, and Miss Callie, Sydney’s grandmother whose health is failing. On a day when Sydney can’t leave work to care for her grandmother, she calls a cab service to take her to a doctor’s appointment. One thing leads to another, and Finn ends up becoming Miss Callie’s personal chauffer day after day! I’ll leave the rest of the details for you to discover when you read it, but this is a very feel-good book - though it does have a few sad moments. The characters had me laughing out loud on more than one occasion. To read the full synopsis or buy the book, check it out on Amazon.
The book for the women that like Christmas Dramas.
Noel Street by Richard Paul Evans
Noel Street is set in the town of Mistletoe in 1975. I thought for sure as this book began that it would be a 100% cheesy romance. I was wrong! This book brings up some difficult issues around racism, family ties, war, and love. Elle Sheen is hard-working single mom to Dylan, her biracial son. As she struggles to make ends meet, she befriends a Vietnam POW, William, who is new to town and struggling with PTSD and his own past. The way these two characters’ stories intertwine was exciting, heart-breaking, and heart-warming all at the same time. There are a few cringy romance scenes in this book, but nothing explicit. To read the full synopsis or buy the book, check it out on Amazon.
The book for the women that like Hallmark Christmas Movies.
The White Christmas Inn by Colleen Wright
This book follows a couple that owns a beautiful inn in the mountains of Vermont. The driving plot point here is the likelihood that the inn will have to close after they host a final wedding for family friends during the holiday season. Huge changes in plans, including a massive snowstorm, bring unexpected, curious, providential guests. As readers watch different perspectives and mini-stories unfold over the course of book, the overarching issue and concern of the inn being able to stay in business looms overhead. This is a fun, heart-warming Christmas read! To read the full synopsis or buy the book, check it out on Amazon.
