We’ve got a handful of fun Christmas books to share with you today!

Little Golden Book Christmas Stories

This is a classic bind up Christmas stories for kids! It’s got the traditional Christmas story about the birth of Christ to The Poky Little Puppy’s First Christmas to The Nutcracker. There are nine stories in this book, and our copy has been loved to the point of needing tape. The best parts of this one, besides getting nine stories for the price of one, are the illustrations. They’re so classically old school and nostalgic.

I Spy Christmas: A Book of Picture Riddles

The “I Spy” books were staples of my childhood! I just checked the front cover of this one, and it looks like my mom bought it for me when I was eight years old. This series, and especially this Christmas version, are bound to please curious, determined parents and kids alike! This is a fun one to look at with multiple people or to take along on those family road trips during the holiday season.

The Berenstain Bears’ Old-Fashioned Christmas

If you saw our recommendation for fall books for kids, you’ll know I’m a fan of the Berenstain Bears. The Old-Fashioned Christmas is a very colorful, wholesome book that centers around all the fun traditions that are a part of the holiday season for the family of Bears. In the day and age where Christmas tends to center around busyness and entertainment, it’s refreshing to get a taste of some ways the holiday was enjoyed a few generations ago.

An Otis Christmas

If you’ve got little kids, you may be familiar with this lovable character, Otis the tractor. In this story, he steps in as a hero on the farm and saves the day – on Christmas, no less! That’s about all the details I can give you without spoiling the story! My favorite part of this book is when the farmer in the story stops to pray for a miracle. It’s a sweet, nail-biter of a Christmas story for the little ones!

Who Built the Stable?

Last but not least is this beautifully illustrated nativity poem by African author, Ashley Bryan. This poem focuses on who may have built the stable where Jesus was born. I love stories where readers get to use their imagination make conjecture about parts of the Bible or history that aren’t specifically described. In this poem, a young carpenter and shepherd is the one who built the stable. He welcomes the Christ-child and learns that He too would be a shepherd and a carpenter.

We wish you and your little ones a happy Christmas season! Happy Reading!
