Playlists for Prayer Time

By: Ashley Davis

Do you listen to music during your prayer and Bible study time? Some love it, others don’t! It’s all a matter of preference! That’s why we’ve compiled list of ten different playlists/videos you can try out in your own prayer time! We’ve got six options from Spotify and four from YouTube. Both Spotify and YouTube are accessible via their own apps & web browsers and are free to use. If you enjoy one of these playlists, we’d love to hear which one! Pop over to our Facebook or Instagram or send us an email and let us know. Happy listening!

Spotify Playlists:

Instrumental Study
I personally listened to this playlist for a couple years during my prayer time. It’s primarily piano songs that aren’t covers of worship songs or popular songs. The description from Spotify is accurate! It’s “a soft musical backdrop for your studies” – Bible studies included!

Instrumental Hymns for Study
If you’d like to try instrumental hymns, this playlist is a good choice. In this playlist, you’ll find covers of a wide variety of hymns with piano, violin, cello, and other stringed instruments.

Signs and Wonders
If you like the flow of the increasingly popular “spontaneous” worship songs, you will love this Signs & Wonders Playlist. The list boasts 100 songs with 10+ hours of play time. Here you’ll find artists like Bethel Music, Steffany Gretzinger, Upperroom, and Melissa Helser.

Relaxing Hymns on Guitar
Our next suggestion would be perfect for anyone that loves the acoustic sounds of classical guitar. This playlist has over 50 songs and is nearly three hours long.

Deep Prayer
If you’re looking for a playlist on Spotify with music that has words (not just instrumental!), this is a great option. This playlist has a wide variety of artists, from Elevation to Indiana Bible College to Cece Winans. It would be a great worshipful playlist to listen to during your personal quiet time.

Autumn Piano
And if you’re feeling particularly autumnal, here’s an Autumn Piano playlist! No lyrics or covers, just peaceful, autumn atmosphere.

YouTube Playlists:

Michael at Relax Daily creates calming piano videos with some ambient sounds included. Many of his videos are over an hour long.

These videos are mostly piano playing melody with other layered piano sounds and ambient sounds. They range from about an hour and a half long to four hours long. They repeatedly play the melody of the song listed as their title (I Exalt Thee, Yeshua, The Blessing).
